Track every CIS deduction.
Built for the way
UK trades actually work.
CISDesk is the CIS tracker for UK construction subcontractors. Log jobs in seconds, generate official HMRC-format Payment & Deduction Statements, and get MTD-ready summaries straight from your pocket — built for April 2026 and beyond.
Stop hunting through WhatsApp at tax time.
Most CIS-registered tradespeople we talk to manage their deductions across screenshots, paper remittances, and voice notes. Then February hits and it all needs to add up.
The shoebox method
- Paper remittance slips lost between site and home
- Contractors who forget to send statements
- Spreadsheets that break the moment a job has materials
- Frantic February calls to your accountant
- No idea what you're owed back until July
One place. Built for site.
- Log a job in 10 seconds — gross, materials, CIS rate
- Generate the statement yourself — HMRC format
- Materials handled correctly — CIS only on labour
- Year-to-date totals always visible
- Self Assessment ready — SA103S Box 38, SA103F Box 81
Designed for thumbs in work boots.
Big numbers. Tap targets that work with gloves on. The information your accountant actually asks for, surfaced where you can see it.
April 2026 is closer
than you think.
From 6 April 2026, sole traders earning over £50,000 must keep digital records and submit quarterly summaries to HMRC. £30,000+ follows in 2027. CISDesk's Quarterly view gives you cumulative figures, formatted and ready, every quarter.

The maths is right because the rules are right.
Months run 6th to 5th of the following month — not calendar months. CISDesk assigns deductions automatically.
Your CIS deductions map directly to Self Assessment Box 38 on the short return — and Box 81 on SA103F.
Standard, higher and gross rates. Materials excluded automatically — CIS only applies to labour.

Questions, properly answered.
What is CISDesk?
CISDesk is an iPhone app for UK construction subcontractors paid under the Construction Industry Scheme. It tracks every job and CIS deduction, generates HMRC-format Payment & Deduction Statements, and produces MTD-ready quarterly summaries. It is not invoicing software and not a replacement for an accountant — it's a focused tracker and statement generator.
Is CISDesk really free?
Yes. While in early access, CISDesk is completely free and every Pro feature is unlocked for everyone. After launch a free tier remains, and Pro features (statement PDFs, MTD-ready exports, multi-year history) move to £3.99/month or £29/year with a 14-day free trial. Anyone who downloads during the beta gets to use the full app, free, in that window.
Is CISDesk MTD-ready for April 2026?
Yes. CISDesk produces cumulative quarterly summaries formatted for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self Assessment (MTD ITSA), which becomes mandatory from April 2026 for sole traders earning over £50,000 and from April 2027 for those over £30,000. Figures map directly to Self Assessment SA103S Box 38 and SA103F Box 81.
Does the statement PDF match what HMRC expects?
Yes. CISDesk's Payment & Deduction Statement PDFs are built to match HMRC's CISOL1 structure — the same layout contractors are required to issue. If a contractor underpays you, fails to send a statement, or sends one that doesn't add up, you can generate one yourself in CISDesk and send it back. We call it the Shield.
Where is my data stored?
All your data stays on your device. There's no cloud sync, no account required, no tracking of your financial information. iCloud Backup handles persistence automatically — when you set up a new phone, your full CIS history restores with the rest of your apps.
What about Android?
CISDesk is iPhone only today (iOS 17 and later). An Android version is on the roadmap — drop us a line at hello@cisdesk.co.uk if you want to be told when it lands.
How are CIS tax months handled?
CIS tax months run 6th to 5th — not calendar months. CISDesk assigns deductions to the month you were paid, not the month you invoiced (which is what HMRC cares about). The full UK tax year runs 6 April to 5 April.
Is this tax advice?
No. CISDesk records and presents your CIS deductions in HMRC-aligned formats — it isn't tax advice and isn't a substitute for a qualified accountant. Always confirm figures with HMRC or a professional before filing.
